Did you know that laminated floors have the same insulation properties as carpets? That the difference is negligible? Do you know that walking over carpets feels softer and thus warmer? In Afrikaans "people who came too close" is the literal translation for people that have caused you hurt: "Mense wat my te na gekom het". I wonder what it causes in a group of people when in language "closeness" is equated to "hurt". Or there may be wisdom in that,
There are big problems and we want big solutions for them. There is no panacea and nothing will ever get solved. What we have are the smallest of nudges, the changes that happen in moments, and a belief that big problems have smaller problems. And smaller solutions.
