Ice breakers

When ice is what you are skating over, breaking it is undesirable.
When ice is in front of you, an ice breaker has use to get you through.
When ice is between two, then breaking it is about warmth.

Sometimes we use an ice breaker useful for one context, in one where we should walk more careful.
