"It's dirty!"

A toddler stirs her cup with a clean teaspoon, once around slowly.

She declares "it's dirty!" and proudly drops the teaspoon in the kitchen sink. Fetches another teaspoon from the drawer. Does this again. And again.

This toddler learned a new skill, a new sequence. Her reasoning impeccable.

Her timing is off.

I watch myself proudly perform a new skill. A new sequence. A new realisation.

And I wonder when I too, will learn about timing.
