Get your back up

"Gets my back up" is a thing we say, and do.

It was definitely a thing we did before we started saying it.
Now when we say it we forget that it is a feeling generated in our bodies.

When we feel our spines going upright, and we heigthen ourselves and our senses — our backs are getting up and we need to be alert.
