Special occasions

Some seem wired to always expect the special occasion to be a next one. Not this one. This one does not measure up. This one has not achieved it yet. This one still fell short.

Always stockpiling what could happen when the occasion finally does arise: A very fine restaurant, a special bottle of wine, a gift to self finally earned.

Then the restaurant close down, the bottle breaks, and the gift of celebrating life remain ungiven.
