The burden of being cared for

A friend's dad passes away and I see him suffer the burden of being cared for.

Well-meaning people coming up to him, professing their deep sadness. Then getting caught up in their feelings and their fears and him needing to say "it is ok, I am ok".

Let people feel and express their pain. Let them be not ok while you stay ok. Relief them of the burden of being taken care of.
